Why do you need a home inspection? Well, the truth is in most cases you may not be required to have a home inspection. This may save you money in the short run but actually cost you more $ down the road. I can’t tell you how many stories I have heard where the buyer bought a house as is, without having an inspection, because they wanted to save $300 and upon moving in found major plumbing, electrical and foundation issues. During a home inspection, we will pay close attention to some often overlooked items. For example, if the house has an accessible crawlspace, a home inspector can determine many things by entering this space. Is there adequate ventilation? Are the floor joists compromised? Has there been a plumbing leak? These are all points of interest for a home inspector to investigate.
